The earliest burial marked by a tombstone in the cemetery belongs to Engel Marie Krentler, who was laid to rest on 16 July 1877. Currently, the cemetery contains approximately 485 burials. The land was deeded to the community by William Welborn in February 1890 and features a surrounding fence. It is well-maintained by the local community.

A new cemetery section was recently opened and continues to be used as of 1983. Among those buried here is a notable individual, Cheryl Keeton, a murder victim who was both a mother and a lawyer. Ann Rule wrote a book about her case, and a TV movie titled “Dead By Sunset” was produced the following year.
