Directions: From Highway 167, exit on Highway 516 (Kent-Kangley Rd) and head East 3.6 miles. Turn Left onto Central Ave S/Hwy 516 for 0.1 miles. Take 1st right onto Titus St 0.3 miles. Turn right at light onto Reiten Rd and follow for 1 mile. Reiten Rd takes a sharp left at the cemetery.
The markers' death dates range from 1880 to 2010, and the earliest birth date shown is 1830. The earliest burial was in 1873.
This is a very large cemetery that has annual interments of 300 on average. It is fenced in, and the gates are unlocked at specific times. It is a very nicely kept cemetery. Some stones weren’t legible or I was unable to translate. There are many simple cement block stones that only have the last name with a first initial - these are usually temporary stones. There is a section with a first and last name but without dates and these were either older temporary stones or possibly a pauper section of the cemetery.
Kent Hillcrest Burial Park Cemetery in King County was founded in 1884 and handed to the City of Kent in 1911.
The Kent Hillcrest Burial Park Cemetery’s management was under the City of Kent until 1925, when the Kent Hillcrest Burial Park Cemetery Association took over after its formation. The association took over the administration until 2011, when the cemetery land was deeded again to the City of Kent.
The Kent Hillcrest Burial Park Cemetery has incorporated several graves from the local cemeteries. One notable relocation was done by Kent Catholic Cemetery in 1995. After the relocation, a memorial with a list of the names of the deceased whose graves were moved was erected.
