Sequim View Cemetery was established around 1913 with land donated by J.A. Adams. Early occupants and headstones were relocated from Sequim’s Pioneer Park. This relocation was completed in 1914. The cemetery was developed west to east and has been operated by Mount Angeles Memorial Park since 1969.
Sequim View Cemetery in Clallam County was founded in 1898. In 1917 the cemetery was handed to the City of Sequim.
The Sequim View Cemetery’s management was under the City of Sequim until 1925 when Sequim View Cemetery Association took over after its formation. The association took over the administration until 2012 when the cemetery land was deeded again back to the City of Sequim.
The Sequim View Cemetery has incorporated several graves from the local cemeteries. One of the notable relocations of graves is one done by Sequim Catholic Cemetery in 1994. After relocation, they erected a memorial with a list of names of the deceased whose graves were moved.
Sequim View Cemetery in Sequim ranks number 1st out of the two cemeteries in Sequim City in terms of popularity. Further, it ranks 7th out of 22 cemeteries in Clallam County, 35th out of the 211 cemeteries in Washington State, and 2791 in the United States.
