Issaquah Hillside Cemetery can be reached via Interstate 90. Heading East on I-90, exit 17 Front St. Turn right onto Front St 0.6 miles. Turn right onto W Sunset Way 0.2 miles onto Mountain Park Blvd SW (W Sunset crosses over Newport Way NW), immediate right onto W Sunset Way. Cemetery entrance is on the left side. The Issaquah Hillside Cemetery is located between Mt. Park Boulevard and Sunset Way, just west of and above Newport Way. The Hillside (upper and lower) Cemetery is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thirty acres were donated for this cemetery to the City of Issaquah by the Gilman Lodge of the IOOF in 1900. From about 1909-1913, the Women’s Relief Corps was responsible for maintaining the cemetery. According to the Seattle Times, “on October 4, 1915, 7 3/4 acres were designated as grave or cemetery area. In 1983, the City established the Cemetery Board to advise the mayor on issues. The oldest marked grave was from 1890 and the cemetery is still actively used.

Issaquah Hillside Cemetery, in King County, was founded in 1894 and handed to the City of Issaquah in 1917.

The Issaquah Hillside Cemetery’s management was under the City of Issaquah until 1937, when the Issaquah Hillside Cemetery Association took over after its formation. The association took over the administration until 2005, when the cemetery land was deeded again to the City of Issaquah.

The Issaquah Hillside Cemetery has incorporated several graves from the local cemeteries. One notable relocation was done by Issaquah Catholic Cemetery in 1993. After the relocation, a memorial with a list of the names of the deceased whose graves were moved was erected.

Issaquah Hillside Cemetery in Issaquah ranks number 1st out of the two cemeteries in Issaquah City in terms of popularity. Further, it ranks 7th out of 17 cemeteries in King County, 44th out of the 226 in Washington State, and 2590th in the United States.
