Skamokawa Fern Hill Cemetery, in Wahkiakum County, was founded in 1896 and handed to the City of Skamokawa in 1914.

The Skamokawa Fern Hill Cemetery’s management was under the City of Skamokawa until 1925, when the Skamokawa Fern Hill Cemetery Association took over after its formation. The association took over the administration until 2012, when the cemetery land was deeded again to the City of Skamokawa.

The Skamokawa Fern Hill Cemetery has incorporated several graves from the local cemeteries. One notable relocation was done by Skamokawa Catholic Cemetery in 1994. After the relocation, a memorial with a list of the names of the deceased whose graves were moved was erected.

Skamokawa Fern Hill Cemetery in Skamokawa ranks number 1st out of the two cemeteries in Skamokawa City in terms of popularity. Further, it ranks 10th out of 17 cemeteries in Wahkiakum County, 43rd out of the 229 cemeteries in Washington State, and 2763 in the United States.
