ESTABLISHED: “In 1892, Samuel Hadlock, William H. Lee and Olaf Peterson each contributed two hundred and fifty dollars towards a new cemetery at Chimacum, called Greenwood. William Eldridge donated Land for the cemetery. [William Matheson oral history] According to the original agreement, the land was purchased from William Eldridge, and he became a member of the non-profit corporation. There were burials prior to 1892, some by the church west of the cemetery, and at Hadlock at a place called “dead man’s gulch.” These graves were moved to the Greenwood Cemetery after its formation. It is currently a corporation.
LOCATION: From the Chimacum Post Office, go east on State Highway 19 (Rhody Drive) 0.1 miles to the intersection of Highway 19, Chimacum Road, and Center Road. Continue straight ahead 0.1 mile east on State Highway 19 (Beaver Valley Road). The cemetery is on your right.

In 2017 JCGS completed an update to these records:
- The cemetery was walked, making note of those with markers and any information contained on the markers was entered in the record.
- An Old Ledger for this cemetery, copied in 1981 by Wilma Wright for the DAR Chapter, is in the Jefferson County Historical Society Collection. This was not used for this cemetery report.
- The current record combines all the work done in 1985, 2004 and 2017.
