Directions

The Bethel Cemetery is located 3 miles south of Port Orchard. To reach it from the South Sound Region, head north on Highway 16 and take the exit for Mullenix Road. Turn left to head west over Highway 16. Then, make a right onto Bethel Burley Road SE and continue north until you reach SE Lider Road, where you will turn left. Grace Bible Church will be on your left. The cemetery is situated about 50 yards north of Grace Bible Church. You can enter the cemetery from the church parking lot.

History

The Bethel Cemetery was established on 29 April 1892. The earliest confirmed burial took place in 1886 for Levi Cline, while the most recent burials occurred in 2021. The cemetery covers approximately two acres. Unlike some other cemeteries, it is not maintained by a cemetery association; instead, it is administered by the state, with volunteers from Grace Bible Church responsible for its upkeep. Notably, there are eleven Civil War veterans buried in this cemetery.
