Green Acres had been a privately owned cemetery since 1930.
Ferndale Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery in Whatcom County was founded in 1882 and handed to the City of Ferndale in 1920.
The Ferndale Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery’s management was under the City of Ferndale until 1940, when the Ferndale Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery Association took over after its formation. The association took over the administration until 2012, when the cemetery land was deeded again to the City of Ferndale.
The Ferndale Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery has incorporated several graves from the local cemeteries. One notable relocation was done by Ferndale Catholic Cemetery in 1994. After the relocation, a memorial with a list of the names of the deceased whose graves were moved was erected.
Ferndale Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery in Ferndale ranks number 1st out of the two cemeteries in Ferndale City in terms of popularity. Further, it ranks 8th out of 24 cemeteries in Whatcom County, 39th out of the 240 cemeteries in Washington State, and 2745th in the United States.

GREENACRES MEMORIAL PARK – Volume X
Greenacres Memorial park is located in the SW1/4 of SE1/4 of Section 22, Township 39N, Range 2E, from the Willamette Meridian at Northwest Drive and Axton Road, 5 miles northwest of Bellingham. Greenacres has been a privately owned cemetery since 1930.
To reach the cemetery from I-5, take Exit 262 (Ferndale/Axton Road exit) and drive east 1.7 miles on E.Main Street/W. Axton Road to the corner of W. Axton Road and Northwest Drive. The entrance to the cemetery is at the intersection.
