Daughter of Henry J and Mary (Alden) Huxford. She married John McGraw who died at the Home in 1918 and then Charles W Sisson who also died here in 1930.

Sarah Huxford was married at least five times; the names of her first two husbands are not presently available (possibly Mr Lee and Mr Pages.
Her third husband, Thomas Jones (5 Mar 1883 Ireland - 17 Jun 1917 Retsil) is the first for whom there are Washington records.

1840 seems to be the preferred year for her birth. She resided at Sequim in 1900 and Port Townsend in 1910.

As chaplain for Howard Circle 45,LGAR, Port Townsend, and as LGAR Department Chaplain in 1915, she was charged with rededication of the graves of Army nurses throughout the Northwest.

Her petition for membership in the GAR in her own right as a veteran was turned down. She filed an invalid claim in her own right in 1892 and was turned down because she was a "vet married to vet" and became a rather famous law case in the history of the Law Division of the Bureau of Pensions
