Born at Moores Prairie; enlisted 11 Oct 1861 as a Private, Company D, 6th Illinois Cavalry, and served until October 1865; after the war, his wherabouts are unknown until his membership in the Pacific Branch, National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Sawtelle, California. He became a member of the Washington Soldiers Home at Orting on 26 November 1919, and died while on furlough to Davenport. His burial location has not been identified.
