First Sergeant, Company E, 121st New York Infantry; enlisted 23 Aug 1862, mustered out 25 Jun 1865. Resided in Dane and Sauk Counties, Wisconsin, after the war, with his wife Louise; by way of South Dakota and California, came to Washington before 1940; died at his son's home at the age of 103. He was one of the last twenty surviving Civil War veterans residing in King County, Washington. According to his Washington death certificate, cremation arrangements were made by Home Undertaking; he may have been removed to Wisconsin for burial next to his wife and daughter.
