Civil War veteran: Private, Co K, 156th Illinois Infantry. He enlisted at the age of sixteen years and survived to attend the 75th reunion of Civil War soldiers at Gettysburg in 1938. He was the son of Hanson R Hamilton and Mary McGraw of Indiana. Following the war, he became a general contractor and rancher. He married Elizabeth Ramsey and had several sons. He resided in the greater Seattle vicinity for over fifty years. Following his death his remains were cremated at the Washelli crematory in Seattle. His final location has not been identified.
