Family History

Campbell. - Sereno Davis Campbell was born at Agawam, Mass., Nov. 1, 1834, and died at Yakima, Wash., Feb. 23, 1923, in his eighty-ninth year. He was married to Chloe S. Marshall in Minnesota, to which union were born eleven children, thirty-two grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. When the call came from his country he responded as a volunteer and spent three years in the service of the nation. Forty-nine years ago he gladly accepted the truths of the Adventist message, and has taken great interest in its advancement. He took great pride in having two of his grandchildren - A. L. Ham and Mrs. Geo. Harlow - laboring as missionaries in China. A text of scripture which was a favorite during his life, fittingly applied at his death: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to Me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
