Family History
Andrew was the son of Henry Lewis and Hannah Griffith. Andrew and Lucetta married in Brown Co., Mt. Sterling, IL on December 15, 1860.

OBIT:

Andrew J. Lewis, one of the pioneers of Yakima County, died at his home on the Cowiche, Monday, January 11, 1904, aged 73 years 9 months and 3 days. In company with W. H. Minner, another pioneer of this valley who came here and died recently, he crossed the plains with an ox team in 1865. He first went to Oregon and in 1871 came to the Yakima Valley. He located a claim on the Cowiche and resided there till his death.

One brother and two sisters survive him, to-wit: B. W. Lewis, Mrs. Elizabeth Cleavland and Mrs. H. M. Stevenson of the Cowiche. A wife and seven children also survive. The children are Grant and S. S. Lewis, Mrs. Laura Fowler, Mrs. Delia Austin, Mrs. Lola LaForge, Mrs. Florence Tolbert of the Cowiche and Mrs. Alta Clancy of The Dalles, Ore.

The funeral will be held at his late home on Wednesday and interment will take place in Tahoma Cemetery.
