Son of Archibald McDougal and Katherine Hatton (Both from Scotland)

 

Born at Quebec, Canada, he immigrated to the United States in 1853. He enlisted and mustered in the same day at Horseheads, Chemung County, New York. Mustered out at Harpers Ferry, Jefferson County, West Virginia. After his service he returned to Chemung County, New York. He married Anna Sabina Anderson about 1866. By 1870 he relocated to Jasper, Midland County, Michigan where he farmed. By 1909 he retired at Prosser, Benton County, Washington. He was a member of Maj. Johnson Post No. 114 at Prosser and was named as a delegate to the 1909 Department of Washington and Alaska Encampment. He died at Prosser, Washington. Some military service and pension records spell his last name "McDougall" or "Dougall".
