In 1860, the family of Phillip Jacob Gabel was enumerated residing in Boonville, Cooper, Missouri. In 1862, Phillip GABEL enlisted for military service serving the Union Army as a private in the 5 Regiment Cavalry S.C. Vols. from Boonville, Cooper County, Missouri.

 

In 1870, the family of Phillip Jacob GABEL was enumerated residing in Kansas City Ward 1, Jackson County, Missouri, USA, moving into Plymouth, Russell County, Kansas, USA, by 1875.

 

In 1880, the family of Phillip Jacob GABEL was enumerated residing in Pleasant, Lincoln County, Kansas, and had moved into Wilson, Ellsworth County, Kansas by 1885, settling later, in 1889, in Seattle Ward 1, King County, Washington, USA. Phillip Jacob GABEL died, residing in Seattle E.D. 48, King County, Washington, having applied for a military pension as a veteran of the Civil War in 1892. After his death, 'Effe' applied against his pension as his widow for his military service in the Civil War in 1893.

January 10, 1883, Sylvan Grove, Lincoln County, Kansas, USA, Rhoda Jane FRENCH, 1863-1950, born Covington County, Indiana, died Seattle, King County, Washington, USA, daughter of William FRENCH, and of his wife, Rosamel HOYT; Rhoda was one of eleven (11) children born to the marriage of her parents.
