Harriet was born at Galesburg, Illinois, July 29, 1857. Until she was stricken with
paralysis she was active in religious and charitable work and an attendant at
the Plymouth Congregational Church. She was survived by her husband, Judge A.W.
Hastie, two sons, Walter A. of Hoquiam, Washington and Warren D. of Goldfield,
Nevada and a daughter, Gladys, a sophomore at Broadway High School.

Addison was born in Schenectady, New York, May 27, 1847,
He attended Knox College and the Union College of Law, now Northwestern University.
During the Civil War he served in Company H, 132nd Illinois Regiment.
He was married in 1879 in Peoria, Illinois, to Miss Harriett Harding DeLong, who died in 1912.
In 1890 he came to Seattle with his family and entered the practice of law, a profession which he followed until November 15 1924. From 1895 to 1898 he served as prosecutor of King County. from a visitor:
Addison Whipple Hastie is my great-grandfather. Please edit his children to include my grandmother - Gladys Hastie Adams.
