David Nelson Kilburn was the son of Abigail "Abba" Billings (1803-1891) and Cyrus Kilburn (1800-1882).
He was born in Lunenurg, Worcester Co., Massachusetts, in September 7, 1837, died in Seattle, King Co., Washington, May 18, 1907.
He enlisted in Co. H, 23rd Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, in August 1862 and served as a Private for 2 years and 2 months until discharged in October 1864.
