Born in Ohio. Mustered in as a Musician (Drummer) in Company F at Camp Chase, Ohio on 12 May 1864. Mustered out with his Company at Camp Chase, Ohio. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Served the Post as Sergeant Major in 1892. In the 1907 Post Roster he is identified as the youngest member of the Post. Died in the Washington Veterans Home Hospital at Retsil, Kitsap County, Washington.
