Born in Michigan. A resident of Olmsted County, Minnesota when he enlisted in the 6th Minnesota Infantry for three years. Mustered in as a Private in Company H on 20 Nov 1862. Discharged with the Regiment at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. A member of Custer Post No. 6 of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington. Served the Post as Officer of the Guard in 1912 and Junior Vice Commander beginning on 17 May 1913. Died in Tacoma, Washington. He is buried in a G.A.R. section of the cemetery.
